While citronella’s insect repellent properties have made it famous, it is its other amazing uses that will make it a favorite amongst parents across the world.   1. Mosquito repellent: There is no doubt about its effectiveness as a mosquito repellent, but how do you use it at home? Well you can add a few drops of good quality essential oil of citronella in the bucket of water you use for cleaning floors in the house. Citronella is a known disinfectant so it will help kill the germs too. In addition to keeping the pesky mosquitoes away, it will leave the house smelling citrusy fresh and kids’ safe from both germs and mosquitoes. You can use it in an aromatherapy diffuser to keep mosquitoes out in the mornings and evenings.
  2. Aromatherapy: Citronella is extensively used for aromatherapy. It is a known anti-depressant and a mood elevator. Citronella helps relieve mental fatigue. Its citrus smell is known to lift the gloominess and elevate the mood to happy. It can be used in the mornings to have a happy start to the day.
