Fun Things to do with a Lunch Box for Children

No matter what year it is on the calendar, parents are always going to have questions and complaints about what to pack in a lunch box for children so that it will come back clean. While we don’t have the perfect answer to the ages old riddle, we do have some simple tips and tricks to help you increase the rate at which your child’s lunch box comes home all eaten up. Kids being kids, it best to deal with them their way. Here are some fun things that you can do to make sure that lunch times are fun for the tiny tots.

  1. Shapes are fun: Cut up the fruits in fun shapes with a cookie cutter and do the same with sandwiches. The kids love these cute little nibbles in the blink of an eye. Get creative with food and watch the food disappear in the blink of an eye. Experiment with various shapes and sizes. Try square apples and round melons for a change and see how their eyes light up at the sight of it. Something new always gets the kids curious and excited.
  2. Experiment with taste: Explore out outside your comfort zone and experiment with food. Make a dip caramel or peanut butter sauce to go with apple sticks or try almond butter instead of peanut butter for the sandwiches. Healthy doesn’t have to be boring. Kids love new things and giving them just that increases the chances of the tiffin boxes coming back eaten and your little one with a satisfied smile on their face. Though there will be off days, but keep trying. You will definitely hit the right spot sooner rather than later.
  3. Spruce up the lunch box for children: Make the lunch box a DIY project with your child and go bonkers to make it special. Add your very own pixie dust or a couple of personalized stickers to make the box unique to your child. It will make the kids want to show off their tiffin boxes and actually look forward to what special things your imagination has cooked up for them.
  4. Surprise treats: Every once in a while, add a special treat like their favorite sweets every once in a while to surprise them. It doesn’t always have to be a sweet treat even a love note will do. Bottom line is, kids have to be looking forward to their lunch boxes and want to finish them up.

Kid’s tastes change from time to time, so don’t get very hung up on a certain thing that they liked, they might hate it the next minute and it would still be perfectly fine. Go with the flow and have fun, it is the best way to make sure that the kids have fun too!
